Exams
Am I being a whiny bitch if I complain that my final exam that I did loads of work and revision for could have been done by a trained chimp? I know it's stupid to complain because I found an exam really easy but I'm just a bit pissed that I did loads of work only to get a paper that I completed in 35 out of the alotted 90 minutes. Either way, no more exams for over 8 months and no more university work for 3. Got a hell of a fortnight coming up, can't wait. Bloke Rules
According to my friend Alex, these are some of the bloke rules. They're by no means complete, and as always there are loopholes. Think of them more as guidelines. #1. If a mates girlfriend calls to ask of his whereabouts you are allowed to deny all knowledge of even knowing him. #2 You may exaggerate a story to a mate by 30% a girl 75%. #3. If you're tryin to stop a mate from doing something you know he should but he can look you in the eye and say 'f**k off' you're exempt from any responisbility. #4 If your girfriend wants to set your mate up with one of her ugly friends, you must give him appropiate time to make feesable excuses for joining a monastery, or something of similar magnitude. Those were the only ones he could remember at the time, feel free to add your own via comments and I'll edit this list. Well, I've finally got membership at a gym. I've been meaning to do it to get my podgy ass back into shape after the exam period. They have a selection of weights to die for and a squat rack. For these reasons I am currently feeling as though someone has made a large group of oxen run all over me. It's a good feeling :) So hopefully I'll get rid of this excess chubblyness and get myself sorted for posing during the summer. In other news I finished the new Harry Potter. It then occured to me that it's just a big rip-off of Star Wars, which is a tad annoying. However it's exceptionally readable and far far better than the shabby 5th one! Grad Ball 2005!!!
Well saturday night saw me in a dinner jacket and bow tie for the first time! It was an experience, I felt all grown up and possitively civilized. So Georgia arrived at my house just gone 6, looking fantastically radiant :) Unfortunately she hates having photos taken, so we only managed to get a couple of her in a group. She's a silly moose. We got to the Prom and stood around with other people chatting and having photos taken until they opened the doors for dinner. We all sat down at our tables, and ate mellon, bread, chicken and many other food based foods. The bar was painfully expensive, but it didnt really matter too much once we all got a bit more drunk. Jai, the head boy, made a suprisingly good off-the-cuff speech. Frosty then decided to make a speech, which turned out to be more of a one man stand-up show rather than anything else. After dinner and the speeches we all danced about a bit drunkenly singing along to anything they played. Walking in Memphis, Stand By Me, and Sweet Child O' Mine seemed to be favourites. They decided to throw us out about 12:30 so we hung about a bit, saying our goodbyes and promising to stay in touch etc. Then that was that and we all headed home, very drunk and very tired. I've not got my photos developed yet, but here are a couple of good ones from other people for now... (L to R) Me, Rosanagh, Georgia, Russell, Becca and Paddy (L to R) Mark, Jai (Headboy), and Paddy again And Finally my very good friends James and Tom Dell, they seemed to be getting a lot of female attention for some reason.... not sure why. Pretty accurate, give it a try!! | You scored as Colossus. Colossus is the strongest X-Man physically. His love for his family and his sister Illiana make him strong. It's over
And so endeth my final exam held in 'Big School' at Trinity school for boys. Tis a momentus moment for me, considering I have been there for the last 8 years of my life. Tis a most appreciable percentage. My school life officially ends on thursday at the graduation evening, when we get our year books and prizes. After that I shall have left Trinity for good. Despite the few annoying teachers, the militant librarians and the 8 years of non-stop ginger jokes, I could never have been happier at another school. Looking at all the little ones running about thinking that I was like that 8 years ago and had no idea how long 8 years felt and indeed how much I would change in that time. I have had some of the best teachers I think I shall ever find anywhere and met some of the best people ever through that school, directly or indirectly. Infact with a few exceptions I would have met none of the people on Live Journal seeing as it is via Guy that I know Kaeshan. I do however feel it is most definately time for me to move on and broaden my horizons, and all things willing I shall get my grades and be off to Nottingham at the end of september. So as of tommorrow my I am starting to lose some of this flab I have gained over the exam period and prepare myself for a good quality Kaeshan-whooping in a week and a bit's time, you have no idea how much I have been looking forward to it mate!! I also am still trying to sort out a job, Lush never called back, despite me calling them twice and them saying they would get back to me by the end of the day. At the moment I am just revelling in the knowledge I never have to do another public exam!!! Current Mood: contentCurrent Music: Prove Yourself - Radiohead | | Monday, June 13th, 2005 | | 2:36 pm |

Well for the first time in the entire exam season I have done an entire day's revision, about 4 hours I make it. This is worthy of note on it's own, seeing as I am one of those 'wing it and hope' kind of people as a rule. What makes this even more notable is that it is for my second module of Statistics, cunningly entitled S2. kaeshan will vouch for the fact that I hate stats with all my heart and soul and that the teacher I have for it is like the lovechild of Gimli the Dwarf and Arnold Schwarzenneger. What I have now realised however is that, because I understand the module (ish) finally, I have also noticed that everything I need to know is given to me in the Formula Booklet. Whilst this is very nice of them, it does make my 4 hours of work seem somewhat pointless..... After being introduced to http://www.bash.org I have managed to waste a good hour of revision today. This is some funny funny shiznit. This one grabbed my attention muchley as it reminds me so very very much of more or less every conversation opener I've had with Kaeshan. "About damn time!", I hear you all shout.
Well as of late monday night Georgia and I are officially going out. It's only taken me 5 months to crush her will to resist. So yes, loved-up is the hyphenation of the moment. Seriously, I need someone to slap me to stop me smiling inanely. It's frankly sickening. So today was my last day ever as a secondary school pupil. It's a big thing, I am no longer a cog in the wheel that is trinity, or for that matter a spanner in the works. So as with all great things coming to an end we decided that we should go out with a bang. We've been planning this day for some time now! It all began at about 7:45, when an intrepid group of us decided to have a Barbacue on the main roundabout at the top of the dual carriage way outside school. Literally as they got onto the roundabout there was a police van coming around. They pulled up and asked what was going on... So we offered them a burger or two and they said as long as we made sure the fire was out at the end and it was clean it was all good. Then some numpty must have called the Fire Brigade because they pulled up soon after. They stopped on the roundabout, said they couldnt be bothered to sort it out, asked for some food and had their pictures taken with people. These will be posted later!!... Unfortunately i then had to have my Physics practical, but as soon as that finished we raced outside and set up a load of tarpaulins down the bank onto the pitches, covered them in water and washing up liquid, got our swimming shorts on and proceeded to throw ourselves down it as fast as we could. One of the guys drove his car up there and started to play a nice selection of tunes for us all. Despite the fact it was cloudy and drizzling we kept going on regardless until the head of sixth form came out and stopped it. So we all put our Hawaiian shirts back on and headed back in for our goodbye coffee and biscuits with various members of staff. The next operation was at 11:30 when the rest of the school was on break as well as all the teachers. We decided a conga line was in order.... In the absence of the head boy I stepped in as his deputy and led the conga, about 60 of us, through the school, through the teacher's common room, back out and then into the Headmaster's office. We did a quick lap round his chair, and conga'd out ASAP. We all then headed up to the sports fields to have a barbacue (an official one this time) with some of the teachers. Then it was all over, we said our goodbyes to the staff and headed home. Until I get more photos I shall leave you with the Image that greeted our Deputy Headmaster as he walked in to teach his French lesson today... To shut Lucy up, or should I say 'Loosey' *cough* Twins *cough*
Seeing as I have my most important exams to date, I did what any self respecting Student would do, and spent most of the weekend drunk/hungover! It has helped me a lot in my exam preperation if feel. Saturday I headed up to meet Lucy (my ex lucy, not the one who is mentioned in the title) and some friends of hers. Twas all in aid of a friend of hers, Hannah, who's 17th it was. We went ice skating.... This was always going to be an experience, due to my ice skating virgin status. However, I managed to last over an hour without falling over!!! I put this down to years of trying to stand up when Matt and D_Vo kick me around the training hall. So yeah, basically I am an Ice Skating God. Tis about all that needs to be said on that one. So I headed back home to get changed for the partay in the evening. Decided to walk to James' only realising when I got about 3/4 of the way it was a hell of a lot further than I had thought. Took me the best part of an hour to get there. At last I arrived and promptly played Catch-Up. The rest is something of a blur. It involved a lot of time spent kissing Georgia and then spending time alone together in James' bed. I shall spare details for those of a weak constitution. Needless to say I was fantastically happy for the entirety of sunday (no Kaeshan, I am still a member of the club which you have been a member of for well over 2 years now), despite a pounding hang over. Having spoken to Georgia, there is not commitment or anything, but neither of us has got wierded out by this recent turn of events, so if things stay like this then I shall be a most happy chappy. Hopefully she will accompany me to the school prom/grad ball thing in July! Once I had sobered up I found out that Lucy (The one at Guy's party for those who were there, and to whom this entry is dedicated) managed to pull both of the Bishopps twins in one night. She is claming they tried it on with her and she was too drunk to stop it. However I doubt this is at all true. She is secretly very proud! And for all of you still reading this here is possibly the greatest picture of Simon ever taken!! | | Friday, May 13th, 2005 | | 4:17 pm |
Copper Dragon, ooo the irony
A COPPER Dragon Lies Beneath!

Your Inner Dragon is the mighty warrior of dragon-kind. It's just that simple. Coppers show up when someone's about to die. Usually they just go ahead and take out his best friends too, just so he won't be lonely in the afterlife. Coppers don't mess around, and they don't play evil games like Red Dragons. They don't bother with magic, like Gold Dragons. They don't run and hide like White Dragons. They're there to do a job, and they do it well. (Think Special Forces...) But what sort of a dragon would you be if that really was the whole story? You also like to stomp your enemies, incite human rebellions, start the occasional war, and spend lazy hours preening your battle aura. Your favorable attributes are strength, physical abilities, thriftiness, warmth, and longevity in battle. Just in case some puny human (or conniving Red Dragon) thinks they can get the drop on you, you've got a concealed breath weapon - gigantic masses of Fire. Hey, it's the tried and true way to cook a cow in 0.75 seconds. Use it well, my friend. Click The Image To Find Out What Your Dragon's Colour Is! | | Thursday, April 14th, 2005 | | 2:21 pm |

Finally, a music reviewer with a brain!!
A quote from a review of the O.C. Mix 4. It perfectly sums of my views on music and the people who think they are unique because they listen to obscure shitty bands. "So if this throwaway compilation has an underlying message, it's this: You're not special. That complex, detached, artfully depressed persona you've cultivated isn't unique; in fact, it's so easily simulated, the network that also brings you "Life on a Stick" can replicate it. But don't let it bring you down, it's only castles burning. Accelerate the inevitable: Embrace your lack of the unique, stop liking bands for their scarcity, enjoy the full spectrum of music, not just the portions with credibility directed prefixes. And don't forget to thank "The O.C." for saving you some time along the way." I feel so good now! Current Mood: Purged! |
